SocksCap

SocksCap

SocksCap is an application, that lets other software, which don't support proxies for connections, connect through a proxy server. If you have a game, an application or any other kind of software that needs internet connection, and doesn't support proxies, you can do it with SocksCap. What's good about SocksCap is that it's smal, easy to use, and free.

Before you can use SocksCap, you need to get a proxy server that will be able to handle the protocol you plan to use. You need a Socks4 or Socks5 type of proxy. Once you have it, you can start the configuration.

There are two versions of SocksCap. The 16-bit and the 32-bit. What this means is that the SocksCap16 should be used for 16-bit application and SocksCap32 for 32-bit applications. If you don't know what should you use for your application, use the 32-bit. The 16-bit is used just for very old applications.

Usage

Run SocksCap, go to "File" then "Settings" and select the "SOCKS Settings" tab.

Now, under "Server", set the proxy hostname or IP address and port. Under "Protocol" select which type of proxy you are using. If you are using a Socks5 type of proxy, make sure the "Resolve all names locally" is checked, and press ok.

Go to "File" then "New". In the "New application profile" window, set the "Profile name" to any name you want, then press the "Browse" button, and select the exe file of the application you want to use the proxy on. Once selected, press ok, and a new icon should show up in SocksCap.

Right click on the new icon, and press "Run Socksified". SocksCap will now start your application, and make sure that everything that the applications sends and receives, goes through your proxy server.
